Went to visit a wax museum in my childhood city that I am currently visiting called Mother's Wax Museum. The only highlights of the museum was a room full of ghostly figures and imaginary characters. A little more tolerable were the statues for people who have passed away almost a century ago. Anything else that was supposed to resemble people in the last 5-7 decades was 144p at best. Some of the movie celebs' wax statues were resembling more of their lookalikes #vacay #museum #wax #loweffort

Went to visit a wax museum in my childhood city that I am currently visiting called Mother's Wax Museum. Contrary to expectations from wax museums, the only highlights of the museum were figures that were based on persons who were historical figures or imaginary characters from old to current animated series. Anything else that was supposed to resemble people in the last 5-7 decades was 144p at best. Some of the movie celebs' wax statues were resembling more of their lookalikes (mimicry artists not stunt doubles) than the actual celebs themselves. The skin tone of some of them reminded me of the time when I had smaller crayon box and not all extra colors. #vacay #museum #wax #loweffort -
Finally 8.5 hours of lying down in the dark. Sleep is never uninterrupted as we age. Gotta pass fluids a couple of times through the body and not yet evolved to aim right without opening eyes. #sleep #sleepgoals #tiredofsleeping #sleepy again

if you are taking python interview for a 4-5+ yr experience developer wiho has all the modern fancy packages listed out in their CV but they can't write good #pythonic code with just the language and no external dependencies... #aita? for never asking textbook questions but creating simple coding exercises which require no leet level algorithms etiher? not a single candidate went through without struggling. i have stopped believing in the fancy packages they are putting in python developer CVs. -
@tshirtman will look at #freezegun. thanks for the suggestion. for email situation, the issue was a mistake on my part of basic python lists comprehension...as in my comprehension of how list functions and join function works. somehow i thought it would be syntax error, but that is wrong of me. for time sensitive thing, the data is only available at that time and the challenge is always whether the live db will auth and take in the data correctly. but as i said, i figure and fix it eventually.

dunno if anyone uses #memcached, but i need some #help please. I wrote an app that does several read and write calls to memcache, where i use an async library called emcache and i wrote a simple wrapper to pass key and/or value to read and/or write to memcached. This ran fine until I had to scale it up to much higher load. Now the same code is causing memcached to become unresponsive with "too many open files" errors. This is on Ubuntu 20.04. What are my options on OS side, before changing code?

when you think you have a right to choose your work life balance but have to still get approval for that, be kind and grateful when you do get that approval. every aspect of life matters or it shouldn't be part of life. #thanknotes #selfnote -
@kingslyj @system76 very very #easeofdoingbusiness indeed. seems it's even higher for gifting.
who were those US uncles who could afford to bring over US only gadgets that were too costly to get over here. Everything coming here costs too damn high.
so system76 is already priced at a premium and then additional 42.08% on top of it.
what i really miss here though is that stuff llike 32 gb ram and 1tb ssd etc are not even browsable on the standard shopping sites here. -
that #wherediditgo moment, when you see randomly one data point not being taken up in your tool at all.

The struggle to carry a loaded bag to office especially with a sciatica riddled lower back makes me not like the idea of going back to office any more frequently than the current routine of going twice a month. I dunno at what point it will not be enough to just have good projects. Even my team is remote and it feels more alone in a crowd of other teams than in my house where I'm not being made aware of other teams.
I do like my team though and that I get to work solo on my project.
The experience gets worse especially when depending on public transport that is affordable if traveling daily, cabs are not priced to be traveling daily in, but they do cover the maximum distance from door to door, in case i want to minimize the time i have to lug the heavy bag from point A to point B. other modes of transport require walking with the weight, anywhere from 3-4 kms through the day. the body aches for hours after i get back home.

what's the latest max character count in twitter? has it gone above 280 since 2020?
does it help you any better to write complete words and sentences with the increased character count in fediverse platforms? (mastodon, pleroma, etc.)? or do you find yourself just coming up with more lines to fill..
If I am not wrong, the minimum we get here is 500 and that is not fixed. Some have much much more.

@jpoesen @Obfuscated just wild guessing, but i am thinking the unit with the smallest max value is taken first. so 12 months, 30 days, and then year is obviously largest. somethiing tells me that if you were considering weekday it would be appearing first since only 7 days.

That moment of realization when u feel thankful 2 d more experienced members who have also been 'on ur team' in all sense of d phrase, even tho while u wr charting uncharted terriroty n grumbling abt y they r not just using u as a tool 2 make a tool 2 express their decisions in2 a presentable initiative. The liberty 2 look at a blank slate with d path slowly forming out of ur own decisions n then reaching a definite conclusion thru that path needs a lot of courage n encouragement. #learningdaily

My employer has IT security auto respond to all phishing reports with, "this was part of ongoing checking to see how many users identify it as suspicious and report it. Don't share this with others so we have more accurate data about it awareness".
I did that honestly till some senior level person just shared info that those were actual phishing attempts and for people to be careful not to click on links in them. #GameSpoiler 😄 -
Since #sonyliv got greedy and has now delayed full episodes for free viewing by a full day, #tatasky app on phone chimed in with a notification to watch a show on sony and that too live something that sony charges separately for while not cutting out ads afaik. #tatasky app shows the shows that my folks back home have subscribed to

it seems with #dunzo you have to proactively track when the delivery partner is at the store and make a call to verify that they are picking up exactly the items you ordered because the shops think that since the customers are not looking they can pack whatever shit they want and the delivery partners don't give a fuck that you are getting the wrong items. they don't bother to check with you. #blr #india
