For the ~3 other #Arduino folks on the planet trying to solve the same problem I am: if you're desperately trying to find a 3.3V version of a #ProMicro with USB type C, Sparkfun make one with a Raspberry #PiPico RP2350 on board - much faster chip than an Atmel 32U4, runs at 3.3 volts, and no more expensive, plus there's the usual exciting range of faithful and creative clones on AliExpress.
The RP2040 also runs at 3V3 but is tolerant of 5V, for those weird in-between projects. #electronics

Lol I managed to softlock Sonic 3. Turns out if you fly into the first Marble Garden boss battle as Super Sonic on one of those spinning tops, you just fly off the screen and disappear. #retrogaming #Sonic3 #SEGA

For a home #CO2 monitor, I ended up buying an #IKEA #ALPSTUGA for AU$50.
tl;dr: If you just want to keep an eye on relative CO2 levels in your home, this is the thing to get. It's only accurate to within 100ppm-ish, but that's enough for my use. It also does PM2.5, humidity, temperature, and the time - and the display dims very intelligently at night, making it an excellent bedside clock. Recommended.

Here's a behind-the-scenes on the process.
In the same way a woodworker might use a jig on a table saw to get consistent, repeatable cuts, I use a virtual jig to get consistent and adjustable subtractions on my model. The magenta thing in this screenshot is that jig - I just generate a bolt, cut it with the subtraction jig, and I have the shape I need to print.
That jig is made up of six different objects I can tweak independently to make iterative changes to the design.

Another one-shot design and print for my #SolderingStation. I asked the internet if sponge or brass was better for cleaning iron tips - the conclusion seemed to be "having neither sucks, you might want one or the other in different situations". Either can be cheaply acquired, so here's a little doohickey that gives me both options and hangs off the back of the station unobtrusively (this becomes the side where I hold the iron so it's in the right place for me). #3DPrinting

Today was going too smoothly, so I managed to *burn glass* in a microwave.
The handle of this pyrex jug (almost certainly not "real" pyrex) touched the... grille? emitter? of the magnetron and stopped turning, and there was a loud buzzing sound and bright sparks for a couple of seconds before I flew across the kitchen and hit the open button.
WTF just happened? Why did glass do this? My first thought was "oh fuck did I leave metal in there" but I absolutely didn't.

That might be it for now, until the new servo arrives or I want to change something about the pen. Here's my current #SolderingStation setup, the solder feeder mounts to the front and the spring clips hold my Pinecil and the feeder pen when not in use so the whole thing packs up vertically and is carry-able with that handle.
I didn't actually need to put headers on this Pi Pico for any particular project, but - I'm sure you'll understand - I needed to solder *something*.
-
From day one, I designed the thing to screw to the base of my own #SolderingStation project, which includes a spindle for a roll of solder. I could make a basic version of that to go with the feeder.
It's not hard to hook a roll of solder onto something, but the feeder will work best when it's pulling right off the top of a roll, so a bespoke 3D printed part to put things in the right position won't be much of a chore.
-
The fully assembled solder feeder, now attached to the front of my #SolderingStation. It replaces the simple little stand I previously used to just bend the end of my solder wire over - that's still attached next to it in case I ever want it again.
I think the trick with this filament is to print with super low layer height, and enable ironing - the top of this thing looks like machined delrin or something.
Last step is finishing the feeder pen itself.

I'm not familiar with Huntarr (looks like something to do with Plex), but it looks like it was a vibe-coded (gen AI) system with huge security flaws and when these were raised with its author he simply blocked everyone and deleted everything and went into hiding: https://old.reddit.com/r/selfhosted/comments/1rckopd/huntarr_your_passwords_and_your_entire_arr_stacks/
If you or someone you know have used #Huntarr, it's time to nuke it from orbit and do some personal security auditing.

Competitive #TrackMania is more exciting than Formula 1 IMHO and doesn't come with a rusted-on fanbase that'll bite your head off for having an opinion. If you need an hour of background noise (or foreground entertainment) tonight, you could do worse than Norwegian caster and pro player Wirtual talking you through the first Elite Cup - you don't have to know anything at all about the game to get into it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-IIDbmVKow4

Continuous rotation servo + a 608 size bearing and TPU wheels + PTFE tubing + fewer 3D printed parts than you'd think + actually securing this contraption to my soldering station = a computer-controlled power feed for solder wire, for those long electronics assembly sessions.
Even before starting on the second part (the actual pen with buttons you hold at the other end of the tube) this is a serious project milestone and I'm very happy with it. #maker #3DPrinting #SolderingStation

Proof of concept: A servo motor, a little platform with an opposing wheel, and two TPU tyres with a tiny groove down the middle will very capably grab a length of solder and push/pull it.
This is part 1 of the next addition to my soldering station: a pen that precisely pays out solder wire as it's needed.
I have some continuous rotation servos and some 1mm ID PTFE tubing in the mail. This should be a quick, fruitful project. #3DPrinting #Arduino #maker #SolderingStation

Soldering up a new motor driver board. The regular pin headers I already have a system for, but how would you go about holding these screw terminals in place while soldering? I think my #SolderingStation needs a vertical slot for this clamp, and some new "feet" with gaps for 0.254" pitch pins to get a better grip on things like this.

@gothintheshell if you're into the idea of an open source, open hardware player designed and made in Australia, consider a #Tangara: https://cooltech.zone/tangara/

Two and a bit working days into the year and my second #CADmouse has died, the exact same way its predecessor did - after switching between Bluetooth and the dongle a lot, it suddenly won't connect to either, and just flashes both lights when you toggle the power switch.
Time to dig a spare mouse out and log a support request, both dying the same way is not a coincidence and I would really rather get these fixed than have to find another worthy 3-button mouse.

In my search for the perfect #jaffle, I turned to Japan for help - shokupan, or milk bread, is made in square metal pans. Late last year I acquired a Tiger Crown model 2375 bread mold, which is capable of baking precise 12cm loaf-cubes of bread.
This is the correct tool for homemade jaffle bread. It fits perfectly, there's zero mess in the iron, and the jaffles snap apart flawlessly.
This is ISO Standard Australian white bread, and the recipe needs tweaking, but this is a milestone. #Australia

I have a parcel coming from Newcastle, so of course #AusPost took it to Sydney, then to Fyshwick... then to Denman Prospect for some reason, then Karabar of all places, then back to Sydney and now it's in Fyshwick again. It'll be interesting to see how it's actually addressed when it finally gets here (although I've ordered from these guys many times before and never seen this happen so it may truly be an AusPost miracle).

Are you in the UK or the US? Do you prefer Playstation controllers over Xbox, but wish the D-pad didn't have that gap in the middle?
Get yourself a Google #Stadia controller. The platform itself is long gone now, so there's millions of very lightly-used pads (and plenty new-in-box) on eBay and likely other places for not a ton of cash.
They're re-flashable to be plain Bluetooth gamepads using this tool, runnable on the web and locally: https://github.com/luigimannoni/stadia-controller-flasher
