Really, Co-op? You had space to park out of the bike lane. Ugh. #TorontoBiking #Danforth

Investigating the machinery at the Sammon/Pape location of the #OntarioLine. Apparently this equipment is used with slurry to gouge out deep, rectangular holes. They then stuff a huge rebar box into the hole, and fill it with concrete.
If my Dad was still with us, he'd be fascinated.

@c_9 I'm reminded of that elevated expressway that fell over after the San Francisco earthquake in the 80's. Traffic was forced to re-route itself, having lost that highway .. and it actually managed just fine.
The Gardiner could terminate at Dunn Avenue, then we could tear down the elevated portion. The Lakeshore would replace the Gardiner. #PipeDreams

There used to be a KFC on Pape near me. This is what's left tonight.
It's going to be some sort of staging area for the #OntarioLine.

The demolition continues near Pape station for the #OntarioLine.

@jessta Most of my time at university was in a Co-op residence, at about 2/3 the cost of the Univeristy's residence.
I had a great time, because instead of having staff to clean up, we had to do our own cleanup. If there was damage, we had to pay for it -- and if a resident did it, out the door they went.
It was a great way to live. Highly recommended. #WCRI

Props to the #TorontoPoliceService today for helping out at the Santa Claus parade.
I was in the crowd at Church and Front this afternoon, waiting for the parade to begin, when some dork with a PA system started preaching to the crowd, explaining that Santa was actually Satan. A cop quickly came over and shut him down.
Sure, freedom of expression and all that, but hey, not right where the kids are waiting for Santa.
Dude. No. Read the room.

It's a gigantic relief to get asked some obscure question at work about some change I made a month ago .. and find the documentation backup, and be able to explain why this tiny little change is necessary.

That moment when you make one more change in that Complicated Thing that you're working on .. and Everything Just Works.

PS Working on someone else's code is really hard, kids.

CW: Birbsite discussion
I go back to #TheOtherPlace to have a look around, but it's pretty quiet.
Also, the numbers seem odd. I've tweeted once in that time period, yet I still got 20.8K impressions? These numbers seem a little off.

Well, I'm doing a little light C development again after a break of 20+ years (just for fun), and today I wrote a logging library. It's 137 lines of C and header files, and after I got all of the syntax errors fixed (Man, I am rusty), it finally compiled OK.
Things never work correctly the first time, right? Wrong.
Test program worked perfectly, doing a malloc, opening a file using the current timestamp, writing a line, and doing object cleanup. #StillGotIt #CDevelopment #HappyDeveloper
