Interesting to see the British Library has picked the Clarivate platforms Alma, Primo VE and Rapido as its way forward after its challenges with the cyberattacks. (Previously on Aleph and Primo). I wonder what they’re looking at for hosting digitised content.

This party dress has been much loved by several little girls in our family, resulting in the loss of one of the sash ties. Braided some ribbon in a similar shade and stitched it into the seam to make a new loop for the other long sash. Ready for a wash then a trip to the SPCA shop ready to brighten the day of another child.

Miss 6 put a hole in the knee of her favourite sweat pants so I darned the hole this morning. The mend was pretty fast so I decided to use up some embroidery thread leftover from other projects to make it a bit prettier. An hour or two’s work was worth it for a very happy small daughter. #mending #embroidery #RepairReuseRepurpose #stitchcraft

OMG it seems that I have actually completed one of my many ongoing craft projects! Don’t ask how long I’ve been doing it for, I won’t be taking questions on that topic at this time 😉. Still needs a press and to find (or make) a cushion to go inside it, but it’s lovely to have the stitching finished. #CrossStitch #Embroidery #Stitchcraft

When visiting University visitors don’t differentiate between Professional and Academic staff, so we all have a role to step up and support engagement with indigenous visitors/students/staff
What Next? Work in this space supported by Kaiarahi at Te Tumu Herenga, what could we do further? Support implementation of aspects of indigenous data sovereignty in our repositories and systems? How do we provide support to indigenous researchers wrt challenges they face in the university?

Acknowledgement of Country then Welcome from QUT's VP Research DProf Christopher Barner-Kowollik. Importance of support to make research successful and accessible in academia. Mention of DORA and the need to improve the way research and researchers are assessed. You can't see the value of most research in the very short term.
Recordings of the talks will be up later on https://www.youtube.com/@rscday and previous year's talks can be watched as well
