@MakersHour Q1: Introduce yourself and tell us what you’ve made this week! #MakersHour
A1, Hi 👋 makers friends, I am Janet and I make miniatures. This week I have been working on my miniature sideboard - making tiny scroll style handles for the doors. I have also been working on my miniature sewing. I am currently experimenting with bagging out a 1/12 size man’s jacket. A bit ambitious but worth a go. #HandSewing #No52 #DollsHouse -
@MakersHour Q5: If you had just £10 budget for materials what would you make?
#MakersHour
So many of my makes cost fractions of pennies! £10 is a dream budget. Here’s a hand sewn miniature shirt I have been working on. Just needs buttons. #HandSewing #DollsHouse #No52 -
I found an old linen knit shirt from the past in the bottom of the drawer, which never fit me well (free size and too big for my frame, also a drop-shoulder design ugh). And suddenly got inspired to make it fit! 🤩👌🧵🪡

Hi, this is my #introduction toot! I am new to fediverse in general and I'm hoping I'll have a good time around here.
I like a few different #craft s, including #handsewing , #knitting , and #crochet , although the way I do them have made people scratch their head lol. I am a massive winger/freehander and I suffer the consequences (good and bad) yet get away with it every time! I also have a bunch of hot takes because I've been doing things weirdly so much.
Not a huge #gamer but I do play a bit. I used to play more but these days I spend my nights doing other things. I like #legendofzelda and one day I shall make and finish a proper #zelda -themed project!
Also love #cats because... I mean... come on, just look at them! I was once a bored kid in school and #doodle cats to pass time.
Anyway, nice to meet you and have a good day!

More rain forecast today 🙂 and I need to fix my raincoat.

Today I've marked as finished *two* #sewing projects: a corset cover and a corset. There will be blog posts.
Now i have the slippers in progress, but I'm starting to think about the next #handsewing project, and I have two options.
The one I've been planning is yet another shirt, using some linen-cotton fabric from the stash in blue rather than white: something that I felt the need for this spring, and will probably use again this early autumn, when it will be still warm enough for wearing just a shirt, but also not too hot for anything that isn't white.
And then there may be the fact that I still watch youtube videos, and see stuff, and decide that I want something like that, and that I even have the fabric for it in my stash, so I have no valid reason not to. But that's something that is probably more suitable for early spring, and thus I will not start working on it until I've finished the shirt.
Or at least I will not start *sewing* it. I do have to prepare a pattern O:-)

I shortened the old lightweight cropped pants in order to add a phone pocket. 👌✨📱🩳 Now these shorts are more practical.

Pink skeleton bat, mostly hand-sewn for my (adult) niece. Phases of creation were roughly “Ooh this is a great idea!”, “Whose idea was this?”, “It’ll all be worth it in the end”, “[censored]”, “Why do I keep trusting patterns off the internet”, and finally “let’s never speak of this again”. I kind of wish she was still four years old so she won’t notice how wonky it is. But hey, it’s the thought that counts!

Made a carrying pouch, making use of the leftover nylon fabric from the rain pant project.

Today it was too hot to do, well, anything, really, so we decided to take a day off and rest.
Which means that I've spent the whole day #handsewing.
Which, one could assume, means that I've finished the vampire shirt? of course not, I still have to attach two pairs of finishing patches to the sleeve slits, of course.
But I've worked quite a bit on a new-ish project, so that's good, right?
And to be fair, I had cut the fabric for that project close to two years ago, so it didn't completely count as a *new* project either.
(It's a towel hair wrap, and a second one in a lighter fabric to use as general head wear)
