Took my new Ortlieb Back-Roller Classic pannier bags out for a test ride.
Stopped to take a photo next to another mode of foot based transportation.

Rode 33 miles for the Tour de Whidbey. While my first year back on the bike after 40 years, I probably could have done 50 but I am not even close to those superstars doing 162 miles! Wow!
Such a scenic route though, a few nice hills to test you and some downhills to recover.

My first 40K ride. 28.5 miles actually.
I wanted to see if I was ready before doing a 50K ride mid August.
I felt good during the ride and know I can finished 50k but a few hours after, I feel beat! Like a nap would be marverlous.
It'll be a while before I can do a 100K or even 100 miles.
Maybe next year (STP!?!)

Two rides today. A 6 mile ride where I snuck out but got rained on. Then during a period where the it looked like it wouldn't rain, I nabbed a 11 mile ride to Strawberry Point, staying dry all the way!
