Crew of #NASA's earthbound simulated #Mars habitat emerge after a year
The four volunteer crew members spent more than 12 months inside NASA’s first simulated Mars environment at #JohnsonSpaceCenter, coming out of the artificial enviroment Saturday.
#CHAPEA worked through challenges a crew would be expected to experience including limited resources, isolation and delays in communication of up to 22 min with their home planet on the other side of the habitat’s walls

Four analog astronauts will live in NASA's 3D printed habitat for a year, simulating a mission on Mars.
Take a sneak peek inside the habitat with the BBC, including the small grow area where they'll be able to grow pick and eat salad leaves and tomatoes.
