Snow too thick for me to use the Root River Trail beyond Rushford, so just went to the public library, bicycled the the Creekside Trail in town, lunch at the Creamery, and grocery shopping.

It's about trying to prevent communities and communication between people.

I can't believe I didn't see this clearly already.
All the movements of trying to install autocratic leaders are trying to take advantage of our unevenly distributed apocalypse by installing old school warlord fuedal states. And they did a lot of it *already * using the world wide web on the internet as a testing ground to see how much they could consolidate and destroy competition through mostly legal (but definitely unethical)1/2

No need to talk about it. What will other people think? (What about what their own kids think? Not worthy of consideration. )

I thought it was just *my* parents and aunts and uncles, but I'm finding out that a particular generation seems to have treated their children the same way.
Aunts and Uncles who treat the cousins marvelously, but are hypercritical with their own children. No matter what bad things happen, it's their child's fault, and when good things happen, their children couldn't have had anything to do with it. And everything is...fine, just fine when other people are around.

So 6th episode showed I was right from the 1st episode, but the reveal in the last few minutes of the 5th episode had me doubting myself. Well done.
Did not like the main characters. They both irritated me. Actors were fantastic though because I believed they *were* those people, despite having seen both of them in many other things.

Veronica Mars is back on Netflix. Despite it being the very first show I ever binge watched, it doesn't show that I watched any of the episodes.
Came to watch the show because I'd liked the theme song before it was a theme song.
Pretty good acting kept me watching more than anything else.

CW: Personal biography note
Didn't and don't want children (we are absolutely fine with our taxes going to public education). Didn't really want cats or dogs but they found their way into my life to much grief -- but also lots more joy.
So the past few years as a stable married couple it's been really strange raising a series of adults who've suffered recent past trauma.
You wouldn't think "be on time" and "don't lie without reason" would be hard to teach or learn, but they are.
