#Mondoweiss | The New York Times ignores an essential part of the Jeffrey Epstein story — Israel
"You simply cannot separate the shared love of Israel from Epstein’s mysterious rise. The Times investigation is naïve and stupid. No wonder people turn to Tucker Carlson. "

#GhadaKarmi | CHRISTMAS HYPOCRISY
"The Bethlehem of today is a travesty of the place the Christmas carol depicts, and an indictment of Western Christianity’s abject failure to sustain one of its holiest shrines. “Dreamless sleep” in Bethlehem now is more like a nightmare, and the town can only “lie still” when Israel’s occupation ends."

You can tell if someone on social media is based in the states by how they spell pyjamas wrong.

People discuss how Santa is able to deliver all the present in a single night, but they don't so much consider how he can fit all the presents of a single sleigh.
And if he doesn't have a shrink ray, that would mean there is a size limit for all the gifts and you will know when a gift isn't from Santa because it is over Santa's size limit.

I wonder how popular you'd be on social media if your profile picture was some vomit.

re. Apocalypse Now being imperialism posing as anti-imperialism, Baudrillard wrote of Apocalypse Now as 'The Viet Nam war' ie. they are the same thing.
Essentially, going to someone else's country and blow it up to make a movie - for profit - is not entirely different as Western imperialism -- which is blowing other people's countries up for profit.

Listening to #RibbonOfMemes do #ApocalyspeNow and they say that Willard is shown broken at the beginning but after doesn't show any of that.
But I think he does. It's more of a suppressed brokenness with occasional spontaneous bursts of violence.
And that's one of the reason the movie is so great. It holds a simmering tension throughout. And the main character is broken but everything else is much worse.

This is a bit of a rambling, casual discussion, but I think they hit the nail on the head regarding the problems with the founding on Your Party.
The Party didn't start with a clear ideology. It didn't start with clear objectives.
Giving party members control could work, and it could be powerful force in politics, but all of it could have been lubricated by a clear anti-imperialist stance.
Asa also mentions the problem people (including myself) with the Greens. I've voted Green, and may do again, but historically European Green parties have been more imperialist than anti.
