I love how on Goo the song Mary Christ ends with the intro to Kool Thing.
I'm sure the original plan was to merge the two songs together but for whatever reason, they decided not to. I think that's why it is how it is.
But I like how they just left it as it was, without rerecording or editing Mary Christ.
Maybe they just realised they preferred it that way, or maybe they just couldn't be bothered to change it, or maybe the change would bring less pleasing results.
Whatever it is, it is what it is.
But that's how art and creativity is sometimes. Happy accidents as Bob Ross would say.

Girl in a Band #Book is good, but some things are just completely skipped over, not given any attention.
I'd like to know what the recording process was like for each album. Not necessarily technical stuff, but what it was like working with different people, what they were trying to achieve, how stressful it was, etc.
She mentions what certain songs were about and that interests me - the ideas that inspired the lyrics, etc.
But she cherry picks the songs and doesn't talk about all of them. I'd like to know a little bit more sometimes, especially since #SonicYouth lyrics can be a little bit abstract at times.
When she reveals the thinking behind a song, it makes me see the song in a different way, and lyrics that meant nothing to me suddenly become a little bit more interesting.

... the writing of Bottom is mostly about the jokes. There's a clever interweaving of ideas, how something is mentioned, a joke is made, but then it is later referred back to, to make another joke. But there's a clever contradictory nature about these jokes, where one minute they say one thing, the next they are saying something entirely different. All that matters it that the joke is made.
So storywise, Bottom episodes are all over the place but it doesn't matter. But there's still a clear 3-act structure to them - and initial set up, a middle, a conclusion.
As for Kim Gordon, I think it's common for musicians to just play stuff and when they like something, build upon that. But Kim mentions her band Free Kitten and how people saw it as maybe a joke band and how she didn't have a lot of time to dedicate to it.
But I love Free Kitten and I've never seen it as some kind of ironic endeavour. Sure, it's kind of a loose-ends sort of thing, but that's what makes it great when it works.

Hole - Pretty On The Inside
I think Kim Gordon produced this album -- which is why it's raw.

This song is so good, even more so when you compare it to the original version.

#PunkSunday kinda of garage punk? Post-punk maybe?
anyways the Walkman Wake up
I was obsessed with this song for a couple of years. it is not an exaggeration to say I have heard it over a thousand times.
A drone of menace.
anxiety without climax.
Looping nail and hammer drums.

There exists in the world the perfect song
in which the music
the performance
the lyrics
all work in perfect unison
This is one of them:
#HüskerDü - I'll Never Forget You
-
This #PunkSunday you get Sonic Youth - Halloween
Which may or may not be a #punk song, whatever.

I didn't do a #PunkSunday because I never got round to doing it.
But I was totally going to do I'm Sick of You by the #Stooges
Which is here > https://yewtu.be/watch?v=uR1a3WVVXHY
But I suppose you'll have to wait till next Sunday for that exciting instalment!
By the way, I noticed slidey riff thing was totally ripped off from a #Yardbirds song ...

I know #LydiaLunch was part of the #NoWave scene, and not strictly #PunkRock
But The Harry Crews are one of my favourite bands. They only did one album of live recordings, with songs inspired by novels by Harry Crews.
This is Gospel Singer, which has one of the greatest basslines ever. I don't know how #KimGordon got the bass to sound like that.
