For those who are curious what happens with the Red Efts, I managed to get a photo of an adult yesterday. Red Eft is the juvenile stage of the Eastern Newt, which basically wanders the woods for a couple years then heads to the water and submerges forever. They turn a dull shade of pond bottom, maybe retaining a couple fancy dots. The wiki entry says lifespan of 7-15 years.

Oncology yesterday and as expected PET scan results weren't in. Doc, reminding me "I can't interpret this", brought up scan side by side with 2024 scan and there's extra glowy spot. At which point we both proceed to do our best Monty Python "Run away!"
Actual report came in a couple hours later and there aren't new tumors and the existing one is stable, although more avid than we'd like.

Rather than drill holes in the shifter frame I whipped together a quick little 3d printed tool to remove the bolt that holds the "guts" of shifter in place (rough edges from needle nose plier attempt). Now I have easy access to destroy the little latch and turn this into a dropper actuator.

Bike ride along the rivers and lakes just to see how high they are after the rain. Was not disappointed.

I am a lineman for the county and I fly the main road
Searchin' in the sun for another overload
I hear you singin' in the wire, I can hear you through the whine
And the Pileated Lineman is still on the line -
