I am really missing Spain - 3 yrs since my last visit. Prior to that I visited every year since 2007. This singer is not Spanish but Greek: & I adore her singing. The connection with Spain is that I have a very good Spaniard friend who is as comparable in the beauty-stakes as #NanaMouskouri. I am sharing the original German hit that remained more than 6 mths in the pop charts back in 1963 (?). I shall return #Andalucía. Auf wiederseh’n! I shall see you again… 🇪🇸

En effet, ce vernissage de l’exposition* « Les Fusillés de l’Affiche rouge » (voir invitation jointe) sera un moyen d’évoquer avec force, au moment où nous assistons à une montée inquiétante de l’extrême-droite en France et en Europe et à la recrudescence de l’#antisémitisme dans le monde, qu’il y a plus de 80 ans des étrangers communistes pour la plupart et majoritairement juifs ont combattu contre l’occupant nazi et ses collaborateurs pour que vive la France dans la liberté.
Être massivement présent avec nous ce samedi 4 mai 2024 sera outre l’hommage que nous rendrons une fois de plus à ces résistants étrangers, de dire non à l’extrême droite et à l’antisémitisme d’où qu’il vienne.

* des deux auteurs de la BD, qui dédicaceront leur ouvrage (voir ci-après).À l'occasion de l'entrée au Panthéon de Missak Manouchian, le Musée de la Résistance Nationale (MRN) s'associe avec les éditions Dupuis et l'Office national des Anciens Combattants et Victimes de Guerre (ONaCVG) pour proposer une exposition en lien avec l'album de bande dessinée Missak, Mélinée et le groupe Manouchian, les fusillés de l'Affiche rouge (scénario de Jean David Morvan, dessin de Thomas Tcherkézian).
L'exposition s'appuie sur des planches ou des cases de la bande dessinée pour décrire le parcours de ces hommes et de ces femmes que l'Histoire et la Mémoire ont retenu comme étant les étrangers de l'Affiche rouge.
En retraçant leurs destins, c'est la place des étrangers dans la résistance que l'on met en lumière.
À partir de documents d'archives, de photographies et de témoignages, l'exposition évoque les membres du groupe Manouchian, les FTP-MOI et plus largement le rôle des résistantes et des résistants étrangers en France occupée.
Cette exposition sera ensuite visible, toujours au 14 rue de Paradis, de 15h à 18h30, les lundi 6, mardi 7, mardi 14 et jeudi 16 mai 2024

Chris Rea was a ridiculously talented individual. Although mostly known for Driving Home For Christmas, he’s was so much more than that. Blues-infused pop with a hint of working class Teeside life. Check out New Light From Old Windows for a great retrospective of his pre-Road To Hell work. Especially Candles, Stainsby Girls, Steel River and Windy Town. If fact, the whole damn lot of it. Then listen to his later blues albums. #RIPChrisRea
