Last week, 38 participants from Algeria, Mali & Tunisia successfully completed the training on #QGIS for analysis of #waterproductivity and received the official QGIS certificate! The course was organised by #FAO Algeria & #IHEDelft in the frame of the #WaPOR phase 2 project. #30DayMapChallenge Day 4 - Hexagons
#LiDAR #pointcloud data is usually interpolated to raster DEMs. Today, I used hexagons instead! Hexagons are great for representing densities.
I've used #AHN4 point cloud #OpenData from GeoTiles (https://geotiles.citg.tudelft.nl/), created a 0.5 m hexagon layer and calculated mean elevation & point count per hexagon in #QGIS.

In Chapter 5 on adding #opendata to your catchment, we use the WMTS from the #ESA #WorldCover data https://esa-worldcover.org/en. In the first edition we used #CORINE data, but that was limited to Europe.
