Went to Bronx & Harlem Rivers Urban Waters Federal Partnership (UWFP) Quarterly Meeting.held by #BCEQ.org (The Bronx Council for Environmental Quality) at Manhattan College. Learned many things. One is that #BronxRiver dams will be evaluated for sustainability of #fishPassageway. Also some org has taken sediment cores. The dual dam in #BronxZoo may come down anyway. Pinch points may cause Bronx River to flood.

@tomflood @betterstreetsnsw Makes me think of biking along the #BronxRiver.. Bridges have been washed out probably for 10 years, but there are no warning signs. You just bike until you can't go any turther and then you turn around. Oh. and like trying to bike up the east side of Manhattan.

I love #daffodils. They are reliable. Not native but not invasive and colorful. These are on #CherryWalk along the #HudsonRiver and I planted them in 2018 and they are still coming up. They will be in bloom in a week and will stay that way for at least 2 weeks as long as it doesn't get too hot.

Some of the Riverside Park Conservancy's (RPC) four summer 2022 goats which lived in a large pen in Riverside Park between the 119th Street Tennis courts and Riverside Drive.Their purpose was ostensibly to eat invasive vines and invasive multiflora rose. How much of that they did is debatable. What they did which is without question is raise the profile of RPC, involve young volunteers, provide a local attraction and petting zoo.
