Editing the @rinpharma 2024 workshop recordings and I'm already learning great new tricks, like this gem from @nrennie 's parameterized Quarto workshop 👇
Loading function scripts using the file parameter in a code chunk!

Here I revisit another of my #genuary2023 creations, a system that I call Transchromations, now using color palettes from package {PrettyCols} by @nrennie
https://nrennie.github.io/PrettyCols/
These outputs use palettes Tangerines, PinkGreens, and Winter.
Coded in #Rstats using #ggplot2. All code and more examples of outputs can be found in my repo:

#30DayChartChallenge Day3 – Circular. Total cat and dog rescues by the London fire brigade. 📊🐈🐶🚒
Cats get lost in summer, dogs need help all year round (although far less).
Sticking with the same little data set to test out #ObservableJS Plot and #Python in #Quarto. If you want to make interactive charts and used to python, this is a great option. Full code: https://lnkd.in/ee9juNJq
Nicole Rennie wrote a great blog on Observable for R users, so I finally gave it a go https://nrennie.rbind.io/blog/observable-r-users/ -

For #TidyTuesday this week, we're looking at Crossref metadata 🌍️ I decided to look at how Crossref members (with and without ORCID iDs) vary across different regions 📊
-
I always find it tricky to arrange facets (small multiples) when there is a prime number (e.g. 7) of categories. You always end up with one category poking out from your nice row/column layout creating odd white space. Using `facet_manual()` lets you better position the extra space, and bring the plot text into that gap - resulting in a cleaner layout!
-
If you're working with this week's #TidyTuesday data, you might find it helpful to join the region codes with the names for these regions. You can get them from the WorldBank taxonomy (and scrape them using {rvest} in #RStats)
-
Here's the finished version of this #TidyTuesday chart!
📊 Sunburst chart made with #ggplot2 in #RStats
✋ Dropdown interaction added with {ggiraph} with a few little JavaScript helpers
📚 Combined with #QuartoPubYes, you can make interactives in R without requiring Shiny!
