Was reading #django docs and learned the +1, +0, -0, -1 Apache voting system meanings...coming from a non technical background, I always thought +1 meant something more like +0 and didn't know the other three options existed...now I'm like, wow, folks with a technical background I'd been conversing with might have been thinking I always have really ridiculously strong opinions about literally everything. How embarrassing 😂😅

there seems to be active projects and there are stats pages showing 3M EUR raised in 2025 and money being raised in 2026 so that does seem pretty active, but the site just feels a bit janky/questionable and the GitHub looks inactive (though there are different repos for different versions of it so maybe I just haven't found the right place to look yet?)

Yesterday night I had a clear sky, and I wondered how much my camera could capture with a 5 second shutter time (EOS 5D, ISO 1600, f/4.5). And honestly, I'm impressed! I might get into some amateur #astrophotography by just getting a tripod, waiting for a clear sky, and aiming this camera up for 10 seconds.
For reference: I justed rested it on some books in front of my window and pointed it outside; there are so many easy improvements to make here.

The hike with @[email protected] yesterday went past the "drielandenpunt" (three country point) where Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands meet.
There was a sign(/banner?) over an entrance in Esperanto. Now, my Esperanto isn't great, but I do get the suspicion this is a bad translation. If I understand the grammar correctly, "Benvenon a la kvar randoj kvadrataj" translates to "Welcome to the four square borders". Since this is on the "Four Border Square" ("Viergrenzenplein" in Dutch"), wouldn't it be better as "Benvenon a la placo de la kvar randoj"? Calling for actual Esperantists (or Esperantistoj) here, Google Translate still mixes up "kvadrato" (square, the shape) and placo (square, the open area in a city).
