#OpenSouthCode is about to start in the stunning La Térmica in the beautiful city of Málaga.
Also #Ubucon Europe is co-located at the same venue.
Can't wait for the talks, the people and the open source vibes!
I'll be speaking about "Your very first contribution to open source" at 17.30 local time.
In case you miss this year's event, talks are recorded. And don't forget to book your trip for next year!
Thanks to my employer #Canonical who made it possible for me to attend.

If you are using GitHub actions with the `ubuntu-latest` label, you might run into issues with `sudo pip install`.
Have a look at this blog post by @nuccitheboss

This is probably the shortest talk title in history, at very least at #pythonpizza: "."
@honzakral takes us on the journey of self discovery, or in other words, explains how the dot works in #Python.
-
Petr: "I have a lot of respect for Tim.
Tim learns Czech."Tim: "It is like learning Rust."
-
I love the humorous way Kateřina Lesch presents her keynote on a somewhat sad topic "How Languages Become Extinct" at #pythonpizza here in Prague.
-
-
"Python Packaging: pyproject.toml build backends under the hood" by @hroncok at #pythonpizza in Prague.
This is the right talk if you ever wanted to know how build backends work, and how wheels are built.
-
Karolina Surma (@karo) in "Licensing your Python project" shows the confusing licensing story for the various packaging tools. But there is hope...

Full house at #pythonpizza in Prague.
I just gave my talk about "Your perfect #Python development experience on #Ubuntu".
Thanks a lot to the organisers, the wonderful audience and my employer #Canonical enabling me to have pizza with lovely #opensource folks from Prague and all around the world.

#pythonpizza in Prague kicked off with a thrilling keynote by @ambv
I am not sure what I liked more, the whirlwind deep dive into #python's gil, subinterpreters and jit, or the stunning images he showed.
This image symbolising the Apache webserver almost wants me to ditch nginx at work.

@hamatti https://hynek.me/articles/til/
I have been doing that for a while and I would not want to miss #TILs any more.

Domitil Katemo just gave a fantastic intro about "Python in the Namibian Desert".
Do you even know where Namibia is?
@EvilDMP would phrase it like "you just head in the direction of South Africa and then turn right before you get there."
And we actually learned today that Daniele is heavily involved in Namibias Python story.
The always entertaining talk gave us some insights about the local challenges but also about the incredible community down there.
Thank you!

Next up - David Majda on "Making Remote Teams Work" @pyconcz .
Did you know that #Canonical is fully remote? And I think it works really well.
But there is always room for improvement.
I am curious to learn some tips and tricks on how other people make it work.

Spanish conferences are different. Thanks so much for that!
-
Francesco Cavallari speaking about "Open Games for good" and how they helped e.g. Ukrainian refugees to learn different European languages 👍

While we all know it is best to finish one thing before starting the next, at one point you find yourself with a dirty worktree, working on four different issues.
While branching is one solution, it is not the only one, and does not take care of untracked files.
Let me introduce you to a special tool for special occasions...

Hmkay... last time I checked I did not work in the movie business 😂
