Good news for Deno and Kakoune users: I have implemented a fix for paths with brackets (i.e. Fresh dynamic pages)
I have also added support for virtual documents when using goto-definition (i.e. deno:// paths).
Merge requests are open, but in case they're not merged yet, here's my fork: https://github.com/gbrlsnchs/kakoune-lsp/tree/deno

There are companies trying to hire South American folks in order to train AI with Software Engineering knowledge. They pay in dollars so it's tempting for such folks to give in.

Where's my motivation...

What I hear from young, new students in university is that "no one writes code anymore", and they use AI for every single piece of code they need to write. Assignments? They use AI to do them. Learning exercises? They let AI do them. Well, it's everywhere really. They open VSCode (or even Cursor these days, WTF) and, if not through a prompt, it's through that goddamn Copilot autocomplete.
My guess is that, in the future, there will be a boom in managing positions, like Product Manager, because those folks will not be technical enough to be Software Engineers. Even if they did study important stuff during the course, without writing code it's really hard to learn concepts. The "trial and error" process is very important for learning and it's a mistake to give that away.
Last but not least, besides this learning situation, there are ethical aspects about AI that are rarely questioned. How come an individual like me is more concerned about this than universities themselves? There should be policies about AI usage for assignments et al. We will not only graduate incomplete professionals, but we will slowly erase all the good notion about software and collaboration, to a point where people will no longer care about licenses, contribution, respect, etc.

Uhhh I finally put kak-sql together. It allows querying SQL databases from within Kakoune. It's simple but could be helpful to others: https://sr.ht/~gbrlsnchs/kak-sql

I started working on a Kakoune plugin that allows running SQL queries from your editor, by selecting them... let's see how far I can get...

People love to create bad analogies to justify AI (LLMs actually) usage. No, using LLMs to code is not like replacing horses with cars, nor like replacing Vim with IDEs.
First of all, people that live off of analogies are already small thinkers; never trust them, as they are not able to analyze context in depth.
Second, when making analogies in the same field (tech, for example), you have to at least take into account the nondeterminism of LLMs, so don't compare it to deterministic solutions.
Third, the urge to use AI is just to win a race that isn't even real, which is: to please shareholders. Do not bring that shit to open-source, ever.
Fourth and last, using LLMs is not just "another way to accomplish software engineering". The code that was generated will still exist during runtime and will continue to be executed over and over. So you must know all its branches, how it works, how to fix it, how to refactor it, etc. AND NO, IT'S NOT LIKE DRIVING A CAR. Cars have a rigorous, deterministic assembly process and, even though you might not understand how it works but still drive, rest assured that its functioning is well known to the industry.

I don't know why, but on my ODROID C4 running LineageOS (Android TV), the Steam Link app crashes when connecting to a computer. 😞
