https://codeberg.org/grafcube/uki-snapperuki-efi-bootautomatically scans directories in your esp for efi executables and adds entries to your UEFI boot options whileuki-snapperautomatically creates boot entries/UKIs for snapper snapshots.
It has been working flawlessly so far. I use secure boot so I have to configure uki-snapper to build new images for each snapshot so I configured it to generate no more than 2 to fit in my esp. It also only works on arch right now since it depends on mkinitcpio but contributions to expand support are very welcome.

Vor allem wenn man parallel boot machen will, ist doch #UKI mit einer dedizierten EFI-partition (im besten Fall das #Linux sogar auf einer zweiten platte, SD, oder microSD Karte installieren) und dann halt einfach den Linux bootloader im EFI registrieren.So pfuschen einem gerade bei dual-boot die Windows Updates nicht immer dazwischen.
Ok, desktop environments könnte bessere GUI integration für "efibootmgr --bootnext" haben, aber sonst?

Leider macht Henry Habegger dabei einige Fehler: Eine Überwachung, die sich nicht an die Gesetze hält und deren die Aufsichtsorgane wieder ihr nahestehende Personen sind (#UKI) oder wenig wirkliche Transparenz erfahren, ist weder "streng kontrolliert" noch "vertrauenswürdig, demokratisch". Denn dieser Teil des Bundes sind eben genau nicht "wir alle".
(Und "klare Fokussierung" bezweifle ich auch)

For those running #ArchLinux with #dracut, beware of upgrading, dracut 059 still doesn't carry the patch to fix invalid generated initramfs. This occurs on systemd >= 253 because stricter sandboxing is employed here and the invalid initramfs silently worked before.
Probably time to migrate back to mkinitcpio but now in combination with systemd's #uki and kernel_install.

Hm, #systemd 253 comes with ukify to generated #UKI•s. In combination with kernel-install it should streamline and unify the process for generating, signing and installing kernel images.
I currently use Arch mostly for trying things like that out, as I can relatively easily switch b/w "official" Arch tech and new shiny tools. But I do hope this will see adoption in mainstream Linux (and official Arch), as well as immutable systems becoming the default.
