September 2026 was anomalous in eastern Nebraska, especially in Lincoln. The city recorded its fourth warmest September on record and the warmest since 2019. It was also wet. In fact, in the 140 years of records at Lincoln, 2026 will go down as the wettest. It set the mark by 3", too (1914's 8.32" vs 2026's 11.49").
