AI is man's attempt to make a god that is all-knowing, scraping all the data it can access. This does not frighten me, however, because for me and many others who post online, we actually want our content to be seen, and not hidden. And I already believe there is a truly all-knowing God who created us in his image, who will bring to light the hidden things of darkness.

But #Attie could be used as a form of censorship, hiding or suppressing views, which I am against.

  14. The only account with more blocks than Bluesky’s AI agent is Vice President J.D. Vance, with about 180,000 blocks — Attie even surpassed the White House account (122,000 blocks) and the ICE account (112,460 blocks). 15. Regarding #Attie over at #Bluesky :

Pretty much all social media algorithms at commercial platforms were a major factor of #Enshittification .

Why should Attie be any different? The underlying motivations of Enshittification haven't changed, after all.

Right now I can only offer a picture from last year. That oil was never quite as green as this year's, but equally cloudy.

We don't filter out the particles, but just let them sink to the bottom of the stainless steel container we use to fill our bottles and use the sediment ourselves as, while not as pretty, it is actually very tasty.

  18. @poleguy @attie @rrmutt @tedyapo I am not prepared to speculate on the glitches. I tried tweaking the knobs I know of to smooth the graphs, but it seems to be at a local optimum.

@tedyapo nicely sent me a Google Gemini outline of a Kalman filter to measure fan speed. I used it as an excuse to learn about Kalman filters. I carefully transcribed it into Python, and now I've got a not-quite-working implementation. Here are the graphs, same data as upthread in 🧵4 and 🧵5.

Graphs 1-3 here, 4-5 in the next post.
