Israeli elections led to prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu's far-right coalition losing its majority after four years in power. While Israel's Palestinian-led parties have expressed a clear desire for a Jewish-Arab partnership, most of the opposition ruled out a coalition. Former general Gadi Eisenkot, who leads the biggest opposition party, has not directly ruled out governing with Palestinians but laid out conditions that made it politically impossible for them to join a coalition. The resistance, however, offers Netanyahu the prospect of turning his defeat into another term in office – or at least a prolonged mandate as caretaker prime minister and perhaps another round of elections.

Thanks to the #AlJazeera staff for supplying the famous counterexamples RFKJr never heard of.

That's one approach. Another is to ask why he would even utter a public opinion on this question. Part of the answer is that he was campaigning against #AbdulElSayed, the #ArabAmerican #Democratic nominee for the #Senate from #Michigan. But that can't be the whole answer. It just raises the next question. Why disparage the cultural contributions of an entire ethnic group in order to criticize one person's qualifications for the Senate? This goes to the heart of racist thinking, and to the expectation that one is speaking to a racist audience.

Al regime non andava giù che il quotidiano indipendente Mada Masr fosse ancora attivo nonostante che dal 2017 il suo sito sia irraggiungibile dall’Egitto e che le sue firme più brillanti languiscano in carcere da oltre 10 anni.
Mada Masr disturbava in quanto testimone scomodo della primavera araba, delle folle in Piazza Tahrir, di quell’ingenua utopia che diritti civili e democrazia fossero nell’interesse di tutti.
Mada Masr andava chiuso e basta.
