#Nazi loving tacticians and strategists in the #Israeli government, including #US supported and #wanted for #warCrimes by the International Court of Justice PM #Netanyahu, saw several of their allies recognize a #PalestinianState today, to be followed shortly by Portugal, Belgium, France, Luxembourg, Malta and possibly New Zealand and Liechtenstein.
Probably too late to save hundreds of thousands of #Palestinian lives in #Gaza, but nonetheless good to see it happen.

#Perseverance moved a little again. These days a simple detour around a regolith bump seems to be a real feat for the rover, and to take ages to plan and complete.
Oh, then… maybe that Visual Language Model, a.k.a. "AI" is involved again? That could explain the extreme caution of the operators that we are witnessing.
But that's just speculation. We've been living in the dark since the team's last report in December last year.

@PaulHammond51 reminds me that today is the 5th anniversary of #Perseverance landing on the surface of #Mars, hanging under the #SkyCrane as seen in this #OutOfThisWorld image it captured the moment the umbilical cord connecting them was cut, and the Sky Crane veered off to a heroic crash about 900m NW.

faster, and cheaper. That's wishful thinking by useful idiots, at best. Space is hard, and EXPENSIVE. Who knew?
The Mars Sample Return is shelved because the existing proposal was "too expensive"; yet, no other proposal by the (subsidized) space industry seems to be feasible; and because your favorite billionaire cannot do it at present, there will be no #MSR in the foreseeable future.
So, back to the #Artemis2 mission. I find NASA's coverage very good. Public outreach was extensive,

It's about time for #Perseverance to be heard again, as the Sun slowly moves out of the way and data can be relayed much more reliably to Earth. Only…
We've heard nothing from it yet
Sadly, it seems that nothing will be the same for the rover from now on. After #NASA ditched the Mars Sample Return (#MSR) mission, the #Mars2020 mission may now be forced to revise their plans, considering the possibility of further budgetary cuts, since the mission's end game is now cancelled.

My greatest fear for the #Biden era was that he would just pretend Trump didn't exist, and we'd have a four year American #Weimar era, promptly followed by #American #Fascism and the death of the #AmericanDemocracy.
Seems to be trending very much in that direction. :'(

@ruthpozuelo
They're still in design phase, but two of them will be onboard the MSR mission to Mars as Sample Retrieval Helicopters, to help retrieve the samples in case Perseverance can't deliver the ones it keeps in its belly. The samples that are to be dropped off in a short while at the Depot 1 site are the ones the future #SRH will pick up for delivery to the #SRL (Sample Retrieval Lander).Here are some links:

Sample Recovery Helicopters (#SRH) that will fly to Mars abord the Sample Retrieval Lander (#SRL). This appears to be a significant change/addition to the scope of work of Ingenuity's team, since those helicopters are no more some vague future Martian project but are now tightly bound to the 6 year schedule and much larger budget of the #MSR mission.
A few more things to note:
• The SRHs are planned as backups and may prove to be completely redundant in their primary mission, which is
