  1. @FaithfullJohn I think this is the first of this kind of rock that has been abraded, but the SuperCam instrument that does both Raman and LIBS from a distance may have analyzed other similar rocks in the past. SHERLOC-ACI also does Raman from a close range, but I can't recall it examining a similar rock before.

About 6 months after the operation, the detailed results of the analyses per target are published on the #Mars2020 Analyst's Notebook (go to the specific sol):

  6. As if to aid speculation, #Perseverance's team is building a dedicated panorama of this #JezeroBrightRocks. Here it is, quickly composed as more images are coming in.

  16. Observations like this, and probably others we haven't noticed, may be the answer to why #Perseverance has been going in circles up and down, left and right in this wide area called Lac De Charmes.

  21. New sol, new location, new site number 91. Relative to site coordinates x, y, z are reset to zero, so this is mostly guesswork.

That interface between smooth and rocky terrain ahead may be it. The destination.

  27. @PaulHammond51 reminds me that today is the 5th anniversary of #Perseverance landing on the surface of #Mars, hanging under the #SkyCrane as seen in this #OutOfThisWorld image it captured the moment the umbilical cord connecting them was cut, and the Sky Crane veered off to a heroic crash about 900m NW.

  33. Ha!
Just as I thought that was a rare rock, maybe never to be seen again, here's another one, right next to the rover and to the left of the spot it recently abraded and cored.
