  1. Another of those #JezeroBrightRocks. This one looks rather curly 🙃

3D: left pair for parallel, right pair for crossed-eyed viewing.

  2. Sub-millimeter detail of the edge of #Perseverance's latest abrasion, outside Jezero Crater, Mars.

  3. Observations like this, and probably others we haven't noticed, may be the answer to why #Perseverance has been going in circles up and down, left and right in this wide area called Lac De Charmes.

Map made with #QGIS using data from #NASA's #MMGIS and imagery from #HiRISE and #USGS

  4. New sol, new location, new site number 91. Relative to site coordinates x, y, z are reset to zero, so this is mostly guesswork.

That interface between smooth and rocky terrain ahead may be it. The destination.

Map made with #QGIS using #NASA's #MMGIS data and imagery and DTMs from #HiRISE and #USGS.

  5. #Perseverance either drove into a dead end and is now surrounded by heaps of sand, or found something interesting there, which we don't see yet…

  6. NASA’s Perseverance Mars Rover to Take Bite Out of ‘Krokodillen’

The area has been on the Perseverance science team’s wish list because it marks an important boundary between the oldest rocks of Jezero Crater’s rim and those of the plains beyond the crater

  7. #Perseverance has now arrived at the area called Broom's Point.

Tosol is Sol 1435 of the #Mars2020 mission, Lₛ is 52.1, and the local time in Jezero Crater is now 18:21.

The map was made with #QGIS and data from #NASA's #MMGIS, #HiRISE and #USGS

  8. #Perseverance's 5th campaign, named Northern Rim, on the map (comes out being about 9km from Lookout Hill to Singing Canyon).

Now, if you call this part of *western* Jezero Crater 'northern', then it follows that there will also be a *southern* rim campaign in the future 😎

Digitized in #QGIS from a screenshot of the video in the article above.

  9. Another sol, another 40m higher and 200m closer to the top, Lookout Hill, for #Perseverance. The new path shown on the map is a guess.
