Observations like this, and probably others we haven't noticed, may be the answer to why #Perseverance has been going in circles up and down, left and right in this wide area called Lac De Charmes.

New sol, new location, new site number 91. Relative to site coordinates x, y, z are reset to zero, so this is mostly guesswork.

That interface between smooth and rocky terrain ahead may be it. The destination.

That would have been the first crater to be closely examined by #Perseverance, but apparently it wasn't meant to be. Before even the digital ink in which my post was writen was dry, the rover moved once again, and is now past that little crater.

Still not sure it moved on toward a new area, or it's going back to that swarm of previous sites 85, 86 and 87.

#Perseverance is still turning in circles west of Lac De Charmes. Although ¹IANAG™, I suspect the geologists in its team are trying to establish what the conditions were in that area *before* it got hit by the Jazero metor that created the 45km crater.
