  1. I know it's not supposed to be like this; but I swear every time I need to recover an #illumos zone - including transferring them between installs using snapshots - I feel like motherfucking Indiana Jones. Between things like #zoneadmd and #beadm and magic #zfs flags, it's the worst kind of archeology trip.

Say what you might about #incus or #zones - IMHO, nobody matches the user-friendly ergonomics of @BastilleBSD for persistent containers.

  8. So I'm thinking of upgrading my T630 to #proxmox 9 from 8. But since I don't have much there anyways, this could be a chance to switch to something more interesting, penses-tu pas??

Could go the #BSD way and use #bhyve stuff? Orrr try something really interesting, #SmartOS which gives you bhyve AND #KVM AND #zones ??? Oh I do love a good set of choices that just paralyzes me sometimes :D

Anyone use any of these? Are there terraform / pulumi compatible modules for this stuff?

  13. A new training reality + Peak Raid Eyam

I have new training zones and they scare me. My first run last week with the new zones was an hour in z2. Previously this translates to about 5mins/km - 4:50mins/k but now I had to discover what the new paces would be. This meant starting out at what seemed to be an uncomfortable pace at the start and it took about a k and a half for me to hit the zone. Eventually I seemed to settled into it, but it felt much more like what I felt like a tempo pace was. The end felt hard, but soon I ticked […]
