Ys VIII initially released on this day in 2016 for the PlayStation Vita in Japan. It later received an enhanced port to modern systems. The island setting, great music, and likeable characters make it my favorite in the series!

Made a bit more progress in #YsVIII - the central game loop is now very clear, I think: gather more and more castaways to unlock new areas on the island and amenities in the village. All punctuated by boss fights and defense missions. A simple loop, but it works. #videogames #games

A bit scary when the package tracking had a "unsuccesful delivery, wrong address" message, but it ended up just fine

The relaunch of this game on the PS5 is making me want to play it again.
It has an engaging story, fun gameplay, and as always, Falcom brings it with the soundtrack.

Just finished #YsVIII including the post story dungeon and overall it's an incredible JRPG and has an incredible story but there are a few things about it that really bugged me with the combat.
