The import of Bo: Path of the Teal Lotus for Switch came in from PlayAsia and I'm still early in the game so far, but I can tell it's gonna be a good one. The platforming and combat mechanics are tied in together, and they feel pretty fluid. It's very dense with Japanese mythology, much of which is beyond what I'm familiar with, and it's really refreshing to play a very culturally imbued game like it. Now it's probably going to get me to drink more tea lol

Honestly, I don't think I've ever been more conflicted about a game than I have #BoPathOfTheTealLotus.
There's so much good stuff wrapped inside a layer of pretty frustrating traversal mechanics.
The po-going isn't even that bad, it's just constant and almost the only mechanic the game has for both combat and traversal, and it's not a great mechanic.
I'll stick with it because I want to finish it, but damn if I'm not a little disappointed.

Few thoughts on #BoPathOfTheTealLotus after my first 3 hours.....
1. I suck at this game.
2. Having to Pogo fucking sucks.
3. It's very pretty.
4. Pogo.
5. Checkpoints my man, give me a checkpoint.Okay. I'm having fun, I think. That said I've spent more time this evening being frustrated than I have wow'd.
You can't do *anything* in this game without po-going and that's not a movement mechanic I'm a massive fan of, especially when it feels like half the hits don't land.

I've played the first few hours or so of Bō: Path of the Teal Lotus, and it's nothing hugely groundbreaking but it is fun to play. Runs well on Steam Deck too.
If you like Metroidvanias, particularly those in the style of Hollow Knight, and Ori, then you'll definitely like this one.

Realising it's really good I completed Firewatch last night as Bō: Path of the Teal Lotus is out later today and it looks absolutely phenomenal. Will be playing it tonight for sure.
