  1. An new version matching Debian/Trixie point release 13.3 has been made available, this time without any donation requirements.

    Check it out at wmlive.sourceforge.net

The former requirement for a donation has been dropped as it didn't generate any sufficient increase in donations, and rather resulted in wasting even more time with donator access management.

  2. After a few weeks' worth of work and debugging, the #wmlive package repository at wmlive.rumbero.org/repo/ has finally been updated with a new branch named wmlive-trixie. This branch contains all the wmlive specific packages required to build wmlive-trixie ISO images.

  3. Good news for users of Pentium class machines:
It is perfectly possible to build a fully functional Franken-wmlive for 32-bit combining the Bookworm installer/kernel with the Debian/Trixie i386 software pool.
So, unless a showstopper suggests otherwise, there will also be an i386 version of #wmlive.

  4. Here is a short demonstration video of the wmlive-trixie desktop options as seen from the perspective of the first login after installation. Some details are still subject to change for the final release version.
People able and willing to support our work, please do so at the currently active fundraiser.

  5. For those building the wmlive ISO images themselves, build sources wmlive-bookworm-12.9.1.tar.xz was uploaded to sourceforge. Notable changes:

    * Switch to backport kernel version 6.12.9 for amd64 ISO.

    * Add build-config/wmlive-opt/*/throttled-0.11.tar.xz into build tree.

Additionally, included helper packages wmlive-base and wmlive-installer have some bugs fixed.

  6. It's a pity Window Maker never fully migrated to GNUstep to take advantage of its theming capabilities and Wayland integration. #wmaker #wmlive #gnustep

  7. so i changed to tty with alt+f2, made `ps aux | grep wmaker` and got two wmaker processes, i needed the second: `wmaker --for-real=`, got it's pid. Now issued `kill -s SIGUSR1` that pid.

that reloads wmaker. every window stays at its workspacke. you don't notice any change.
