I’ve made multiple intros like this before but I didn’t back them up, so here goes another…

Hello! I’m snakebites-and-ink.

I’m cautious about sharing my real name online, so you can call me my username, some derivative of it, or another good-faith nickname. I’m also cautious about sharing my precise age, but I am an adult. My pronouns are He/Him and I'm aroace.

I like whump—characters suffering and optionally being comforted afterward (all in a purely fictional capacity of course). That is the main thing I made my tumblr for, what most of my current writing is, and something that will probably feature heavily on my blog here. A few of my favorite whump tropes are conditioning/brainwashing, mind control, pet whump, living weapon whump, and carewhumpers.

Some of my other interests include (but certainly aren't limited to): biology, especially marine biology; fantasy, especially dragons; animals; anything that makes me laugh; and creative work, especially writing.

I’m an amateur writer. I’ve written series (though so far nothing really longer than novellette length), miniseries, and quite a few drabbles. I plan to post at least some of my writing here, though I’ve yet to decide what or how much (suggestions are welcome!).

I came from Tumblr, which has been my main social media for a long time, but that might change with all the negative changes they’re forcing on their users. My url there is snakebites-and-ink. That’s where I’ve posted most of my work so far; here’s my masterlist. You might have also seen me on goblin here on the fediverse, but that seems to be down now.

For those who might not know, essentially whump is hurting or otherwise badly messing with a fictional character and optionally comforting them after. Enjoying it has nothing to do with what we'd want in real life, it just makes for interesting fiction. The main reason I made my tumblr account was to join the whump community, so whump will likely make up an especially large portion of what I post.
