And just as a side note, I think one of the reasons I enjoy a wet shave is the ritualistic aspect of it. It is not something to be rushed and when done with intention, I really enjoy the process, and it leaves a really nice smooth feel.

So in effort to make my masks fit better, though why it's taken 3 years I'll never know, I decided to whittle my beard back to a Van Dyke. That means picking up a razor after many many years. I think the last time I shaved was for a costume.
I enjoy a wet shave with a safety razor. I have a nice soap and brush that were kept clean and stored away just waiting for me. I have had a run-of-the-mill Merkur razor that seems to do the job ok if i'm careful.
In the last several years, I've seen a variety of new razors come out looking to provide an alternative to the multi-blade disposable razors. One in particular that intrigues me is the Leaf system. It is very pretty and looks pretty good. I've been thinking about the single-blade Twig. The other I saw that intrigues me is the Henson AL13. The change in the blade angle and depth seems to offer a less fiddly shave compared to a regular double-edge.
Anybody have any experience with either? I'm leaning towards the Henson.

Fancypants razor today. Cui Mai 8/8" 1/4 grind custom Drew Dick. One layer of 01 steel, 2 layers of copper, 2 layers of damascus. If there's such a thing as a 'soft' super sharp edge, it's this one. #SOTD #wetshave #straightrazor
