39 years ago today, July 11, 1987, The Whispers entered the Top 40 of Billboard’s Hot 100 Singles chart at #32 in its 6th week with “Rock Steady”. It went on to peak at #7 and spent a total of 12 weeks in the Top 40.
I worked for a Country station, AM 650 KYAK. But this record is from KGOT, our CHR sister station at that time. Some 45s would get thrown away and I'd rescue a few from the trash.

It's without a doubt She by VROMANCE! They had such potential and RBW ruined it. They never promoted VROMANCE. Most people don't even know they existed. Listen to these vocals! Some of the best in the business. Even though they're disbanded I hope people will still give their discography a chance.
