  1. VisualCard has entered maintenance mode as it goes feature-complete!

VisualCard was released on May 9th, 2022, as version v0.1.0, to provide you with the most basic set of features to be able to parse any vCard contact. Since then, we’ve added many features and improved existing features to the point that VisualCard has become stronger than before.

VisualCard has, however, reached the point of completion because we’ve implemented almost the whole set of vCard and vCalendar RFCs almost completely, and that the most basic features are now complete. During the lifecycle of VisualCard, it went through four major milestones: a major overhaul, a support for nested cards, a completion of the RFC implementation, and an implementation of editable cards and calendars.

After careful consideration, we’ve reached the point where we can now consider VisualCard feature-complete, and that it has now entered maintenance mode. No new features will be added, but bug fixes and general improvements will make it to future versions of VisualCard. This doesn’t mean that VisualCard is now abandoned or obsolete, but it will continue to receive bug fix updates, and we don’t intend to abandon it.

Thank you to all our VisualCard users and contributors who helped us shape it to the most complete form! We really appreciate your feedback and your usage of our library in your projects, and we will continue to release further updates to continue support for years moving forward.
