Damals bin ich auf das selbstgehostete Baikal (https://sabre.io/baikal/ ; braucht "nur" PHP) gewechselt. Seitdem Kalendar, Aufgaben und Kontakte/Adressbücher überall ordentlich wie nie. Und nicht plötzlich wieder bei Google, wenn irgendein Häkchen vergessen. 1/2

Achievement of the day: I now have zero contacts in Google Contacts (both in my personal and company accounts). I'm using @davx5app with a self-hosted CardDAV server (a simple Go implementation of my own, maybe I'll open source it in the future) and Thundermail as a backup. I've also moved to Fossify, using its Phone and Contacts apps (+ daily backups to my NAS). It's all working flawlessly. Now for the hard part: moving my calendars.

The redeeming feature of #iOS 26 is the ability to use your #Contacts to identify new-to-you callers and optionally send them silently to #voicemail without actually ringing or even starting to ring.

Here are the steps:

Open #Settings > #Apps > #Phone and scroll down past "Live Voicemail" to the section "Screen Unknown Callers."

You have three options: Never, Ask Reason for Calling, Silence.

I have 54 contacts in my awful Nextcloud instance, 44 mutuals on Mastodon, some Signal contacts, some XMPP contacts and some mail contacts.

This is getting messy and confusing. Do y'all know of any software that …

- … integrates with Android and Mastodon.
- … allows writing custom notes attached to a person.
- … is free software and not written in PHP.

I found nothing convincing and already have 201 projects.
