Lotsa #perseid meteors automatically captured by my #ukmon / #gmn camera while we were away on holiday 🤩

I think i can call time on the 2023 #Lyrid #meteor shower now. A full report is available at the link below, but TLDR:

#UKMON made 2039 single-station detections, 88% of which were involved in multistation matches, leading to 331 confirmed matched Lyrids. 144 cameras were involved in matches. The brightest was mag -2.6; there were no fireballs or potential meteorite droppers.

The peak of observations was on the night of 23/24 April, but this reflects poor weather (...)

Our NW facing #GMN #RaspberryPi #MeteorCamera did capture the mag -5.6 #Fireball this morning but the sky was too bright for analysis. I grabbed this from the nightly timelapse video. Analysis is on the #UKMON archive: https://tinyurl.com/4pf6r8hp

The #GeminidsMeteorShower peak was around 03:00UT this morning. Despite partly cloudy skies we detected hundreds of #meteors across our 4 #RMS cameras + over 1,200 matched events across #UKMON! Here are the track-stacks #Geminids #MeteorShower #Meteors #Geminids2022 #RaspberryPiMeteorCamera
