@alexprichard My first thought is: "we will get a trash offer from #UCEA in the next round if we don't", which is understandable. But strike-loss & higher pay-rise might negate each other. And it doesn't solve the institutional inequity problem...

@alexprichard Cannot imagine union relations with #UCEA getting any better while the UK still has a #Tory government. And that's unlikely to change for at least another year. 😭

@sylviademars This would require folks to openly and honestly deal with fiscal realities. And like the #Tories and #Brexit, a sizeable block of #UCU wishes to live in an invented past of their own creation. Also #UCEA wishes to protect the cartel, so deviants will be punished.
