I’ve been researching DJ vinyl turntables the past couple days, as I’m looking to upgrade. It’s been six months since I last compared prices. It seems several Audio-Technica tables are at least $100 USD more expensive than they used to be and I expect other brands have followed a similar trend. I better grab some decent tables before I’m priced out. Tariffs stink.

It's all about the speed – Quartz Lock Button and Speed Adjustment
On the left side, we've got this cluster of controls and indicators.
So, you select the record speed when you power on the unit (previous post), but here we can lock it in or tweak it. Interesting feature, but not sure what need it’s fulfilling. Based on a quick test, it looks like you can tweak the speed +/- 10%.

CW: A quite venty/ranty post about the vinyl record community
TL;DR: People shouldn't care what record player others use when it comes to "how good it is". It doesn't matter.
Okay, so, I've got this record player/turntable that is a bit of a mixed bag when it comes to reviews. Some say it's a great one, others say it's junk. The majority of the latter reviews are from self-proclaimed "vinyl enthusiasts" that are notorious for being part of vinyl circlejerks. It's very frustrating. I've never had any issues with my turntable, and I genuinely don't believe that it is "ruining" records. These brands that people say "ruin" your records would not have a good reputation if they were doing so. Even so, why should it matter if I'm ruining the records that I paid for, with MY OWN money? Let me love my records my way without people being little shits about what record player I use. For gods sake.

The OM20 stylus is really unforgiving. Picks up every click and pop, even low level, and even on very new vinyl. A small price to pay though and I don’t mind the ambiance. More and more now I’m thinking I’m happy with this set up and can’t see me changing for a good while. #Ortifon #OM20 #turntables
