I heard of the third destination from a manager of a diner where I ate breakfast. Would have missed it otherwise, and it turned out to be my favorite of the three.
After seeing it, I was feeling good.

The second destination is a few minutes away: the house she grew up in being restored.

On a road trip last week, I went out of my way to stop in Tryon, a small town in SW North Carolina.
Why?
Had to check out the childhood home of #NinaSimone!🎶 I knew the town has two major "attractions" that are worth seeing. But I learned about a third. All were engaging, making this side trip a highlight.
🎶 First, there is The Nina Simon Plaza, with a bronze likeness of her. More info and what is hidden inside in alt text.
