  1. 🚗 On the last day of our trip, we ate at one of my favorite places in Helen, the Cafe International. (The name should be interpreted the same way you interpret "International House of Pancakes.")

🌊 Its charm is that it's right on the Chattahoochee - and in the shade at lunchtime.

🍽️ They specialize in wursts, of course, something I don't eat anymore. But I was glad to see they had a vegan version! (@otterX may be watching me) And it was good!

😎 Beloved and I sat right at the edge so we could watch the tubers. After our float the day before, we were confidently able to give a color commentary on the errors often being made.

  2. Southern China’s Most Stunning Places

The Southern China itinerary is China’s most atmospheric journey — from the jade‑green Li River and the stilt houses of Fenghuang to the surreal sandstone pillars of Zhangjiajie, classical villages, and the poetic refinement of Hangzhou and Suzhou. #ChinaTravel #ChinaTravelGuide #ChinaTravelTips #ChinaCulture #China #travel #ChinaTrip #photography #traveltuesday #travelblogger #nature

  3. Eastern China’s Most Stunning Places

The Eastern China itinerary is China’s philosophical and spiritual heart — a quiet, contemplative journey through Qufu, the birthplace of Confucius, and Taishan, the sacred mountain climbed by emperors for over 3,000 years. #ChinaTravel #ChinaTravelGuide #ChinaTravelTips #ChinaCulture #China #travel #ChinaTrip #photography #traveltuesday #travelblogger #nature

  4. Northern China’s Most Stunning Places

Northern China itinerary is the strongest introduction to imperial and traditional China — from the Forbidden City, the Summer Palace and the Great Wall, to the Qing Dynasty’s multicultural summer capital at Chengde. #ChinaTravel #ChinaTravelGuide #ChinaTravelTips #ChinaCulture #China #travel #ChinaTrip #photography #traveltuesday #travelblogger #nature

  5. Happy #TravelTuesday! During last month's vacation in #Kyrgyzstan, Helen and I did an eight-day trek in the Alay Mountains which are incredible. Part 1 of that trek covering the first four days is now up on my blog. Stay tuned for Part 2. #travel www.twowheeledpolitics.ca/2026/08/hiki...

  6. Been quite a while since I wrote anything on my site - work and heat exhaustion, let's pretend - but it's #TravelTuesday and I have just published a write-up and a load of photos from a cruise last year along Norway's second longest fjord, Hardangerfjord, so here's one as a treat. This is the village of Ænes and it's pretty bloody lovely, I think we can all agree.

  8. Western China’s Most Stunning Places

The Western China route blends imperial history with sacred mountains and Sichuan culture. This itinerary begins in Xi’an, the ancient capital of 13 dynasties, then rises through dramatic peaks, and finally descends into Chengdu’s teahouses, temples, and panda sanctuaries. #ChinaTravel #ChinaTravelGuide #ChinaTravelTips #ChinaCulture #China #travel #ChinaTrip #photography #traveltuesday #travelblogger #nature

  9. GOOD VIBRATIONS

🎢 Once the rain let up in Helen, it was time to try the coaster. We had low expectations for its intensity, and the track was hidden in the dense trees. We decided not to use the brakes.

But the climb up went on forever. At the top, I had to stow my phone quickly because I could see the beginning of a long, steep, twisty ride down.

😱 The cart was going so fast at one point, it started to shake hard. In a moment of panic, I thought of dangerous sympathetic vibrations from physics and applied the brakes briefly so as to live.

    Afterwards, we rated it "Excellent".

  11. My photo yesterday seemed to be popular, possibly due to the overlap of people who love hot air balloons and the plains of South Africa. This is my full post and photoset from that day, a 50th birthday present from my mum. Includes dawn views and many animal sightings

  12. I didn't set out to experience all things Classen in Oklahoma City during a Route 66 road trip, but once I saw a minor theme emerging, I had to go with it:
