Ik mag straks op de #trike naar het Flevoziekenhuis om een kies te laten verwijderen. De 1 5 . Dat was al een kroon. En het wortelende stuk is onherstelbaar gebroken. Dus dat moet ooit een implantaat worden. Een implantaat is uiteindelijk wel weer fijn. Alles daarvoor heb ik helemaal geen zin in.

Zoals aangekondigd met de #trike naar H in het Flevoziekenhuis. H ligt daar goed. Een beetje vaagtraag van de morfine Fietsen was fijn. Heen rechtuit over het brede fietspad langs het spoor, terug slingeren door de buitengebieden van Almere stad. Thuiskomen in de koelte is ook fijn. Ik hoop dat het morgen niet te heet is voor deze fietstocht.

Vandaag eindelijk weer eens mijn vaste langste #trike #ovp #Almere rondje gedaan. Een heel stuk rond de 24 km/h zelfs, voor mij zijn dat recordsnelheden. Het was best druk, overal divers volk, wandelmoslima's, halfnaakte hardlopers, mamils, peddelen de bejaarde echtparen, van alles wat.

Met een groot pak achterop de #trike naar het postnl punt in de gamma gefietst en zonder dat pak weer terug. Na thuiskomst moeten constateren dat het ook vandaag te warm is voor deze bejaarde hartpatiënt. Ja ik deed rustig aan en ik drink voldoende. Ik ga even liggen. #hitteplan

The other day I posted a picture of just the frame for this trike as I was starting to build it. This is the completed beast which I've been riding for a few days now.
Super comfortable, 2 battery mounts (only one battery on this morning, but the idea is to be able to go a long ways or have the ability to do massive climbs without completely draining the charge), head and tail lights, 2 bottle holders, and a wireless charging phone mount (it was an option, I had to get it).
The motor kit is from Grin Technologies in Vancouver, and it's been injected with cooling fluid (which they call Statorade, lol!) to keep the temp. stable even on long climbs. (Hub motor overheating can be a real issue)
It will be interesting to see how long the brake pads last with the regenerative braking taking on the bulk of the load.
So far, so fun!

One of the things in my bike drawer is an old dynamo-powered bike headlight that I found at a garage sale. I liked the way it looked, but I never quite figured out what to do with it.
Now, I've decided to replace the old incandescent bulb with an LED equivalent, ditch the dynamo, and wire up a little battery case with a switch.
The result should be much simpler, MUCH brighter than the original, and cost very little. And I don't plan on riding at night if I can avoid it anyway.

More than 80km cycled between Father's Day Sunday and Monday. On Sunday I enjoyed the artwork shadow as I was rolling across and above the train tracks, and on my return trip I stopped for a moment to watch a kite surfer in the Thompson as I was rolling through McArthur Island.
Yesterday I went out to Tranquille and decided to see what climbing the Tranquille-Criss Creek road would be like, which one can take out to Red Lake.
The road is so steep initially and there's so much light gravel is was a very difficult climb - there were spots where if I had lost all momentum I don't think I would have been able to get going again, it was just so much soft gravel and so steep. However, it was fun to explore up a ways and I'm planning out a new trike which should have oodles of battery, which should make a trek to Red Lake actually possible. I don't think my current setup could do it without carrying a 2nd battery.

It's starting to get hot! A 20 minute extra bit of ride in to work this morning and the sun was pretty baking.

Boy have I been having a tough time finding time or energy to get out for the cycling, but Monday and Tuesday I was in good enough shape to go, so got 26 km in on Monday, 38 yesterday.
Garmin says I was 'overreaching' yesterday and that I should take time to recover. I don't disbelieve it - I feel like I should be back to doing several hundred km/month if I'm doing anything at all, so have to work on pushing myself a bit. Tomorrow I'll take as long a route to work as I can.
On Monday it was overcast and muggy but cool enough to not be uncomfortable. Yesterday was forecasted to be "Sunny" but we wound up with wild systems rolling through - the wind sandblasted me in a couple of spots as I rolled through it (I was heading North where you can see the blackness was rolling through). Fortunately it was only a royal pain for about 10-15 minutes.
Fortunately I don't feel like I over did it, but I still took it easy this morning.

Got to take a demo ride on this today. Very smooth ride even with suspension that was softer than would be called for with someone of my mass.
They're made in Serbia and are known for being good off-road recumbent trikes.
