Call me late to this party! Love the band, loved their original Traveller album, but just #lastyear this sequel quietly came out. And I'm finally listening to it having stumbled on it in their #Bandcamp!

Hat das (Raum-)Schiff sein Ziel erreicht, muss noch angelegt oder -dockt werden. Normalerweise etwas, das im Rollenspiel oft übersprungen wird, doch die #Zufallstabelle hat sechs Zwischenfälle, um ein bisschen Würze reinzubringen.

[Traveller] The Lord Weird Slough Feg – Traveller

In 2003 The Lord Weird Slough Feg (they later shortened the name to just Slough Feg) released a concept album based on Traveller of all things. This was way after the star of Traveller as an RPG property had gone down and before it rose again. From what I remember the early 2000s were not really great for the game, so this seems to have been rooted their appreciation of the game.

It’s a bit too metal for my taste. Not that it’s bad, but it doesn’t quite fit with what I would connect with Traveller as a game. Also as nice as it is to have a musical version of Traveller, the lyrics are somewhat… debatable…

I am a space pirate, you know my name
Asteroid mining is a dangerous game
Imperial navy can’t keep up my pace
Chasing a rock into Zhodani space

Psionic menace carrying alien spores

Still, this exists. So there’s that.

Traveller 5

I was thinking about passage and remembered one of the house rule tweaks I made.

When generating potential passengers i modify the roll by the destination’s importance.

It’s easier to find people wanting to travel to the Subsector capital than an empty mudball.

I really appreciate the Importance stat for worked and would backport it to any other Traveller version I ran.
