The very first #NYC #subway departed in 1904 from #CityHall station northbound, the old IRT. Although still used as a turnaround for the 6 line, the stop closed in 1945.
Only members of the NY #TransitMuseum get access to 90 minute #tours, 3 times a year (they "sell out quickly"!), for an additional $50.
Curved tile ceilings by Raphael Guastavino accent the structure. Featured are elegant #chandeliers and leaded glass ceilings.
