Cutting melamine sheets to size using poor man's tracksaw. I have had this kreg track for few years now. when I built our kitchen island, all the plywood break down was done using this saw. But I will be selling this setup now that I have my festool TS75 and tracks ( new to me ). I just need to apply new tape to the bottom after cleaning sticky goo left by previous tape. However wanted to use this Kreg setup one more time before I post it up on marketplace for sale.

Notes on #trackSaw usage:
- I was originally using a 3/4 sheet of OSB on saw horses, then 2” pink insulation. The OSB is heavy AF and I’ve seen people just use insulation directly on horses. This is probably fine for straight cuts, but miter cuts get wavy without the additional support.
- the rubber grippy surface on the bottom of the track really does work well. My first time around I was using the clamps for every cut, but I went without today and didn’t have any troubles (in that department anyway)
- when alternating between miter and straight cuts (like when cutting cleats) make sure to readjust the depth stop as soon as you’re done with the miter so you don’t cut too deep into the insulation.
- centec makes a great hose kit to deal with the myriad of dust port sizes on various gear. It’s a great kit, but damn I wish I got the anti-static version. It works great as long as you remember to turn on the vacuum.
- the centec kit I got came with a rigid tube and the kind of adapters you usually get with a shop vac. They’re nice, but there’s a noticeable difference in cleanup with the smaller hose; best to switch back to the chonky hose that came with the vac.Mostly for my own memory, but maybe it’s helpful to someone else.
