#waypipe on #postmarketOS is the best solution I've ever used for running applications on my desktop at home on my phone while I'm away. It's seamless and apps show up natively alongside local apps with proper touchscreen control, mouse control (via #TouchpadEmulator), #squeekboard OSK, and scaling. I used to think ssh -X was the only thing I missed about X11, but after trying waypipe no way. X11 is dead. I don't miss it at all.

Reinstalled #ArchLinux on my #ROGAlly Z1 Extreme, dual booted with Windows 11. KDE is a nice interface but is pretty awful to use with only a touchscreen so I installed #phosh with my custom #squeekboard layouts and #TouchpadEmulator. This could be the best UI for "desktop mode" on touchscreen gaming handhelds if it handled fullscreen games (especially with UI scaling above 100%) better and supported Variable Refresh Rate. It is so nice for everything besides gaming.

My Touchpad Emulator project is now in the #AlpineLinux testing repository! My merge request got merged this morning and I was able to install it on my #postmarketOS edge devices! The package name is touchpad-emulator. It turns the touchscreen into a trackpad style mouse to make desktop UIs easier to use on a touch-only mobile device.

Nexus 5 (lg-hammerhead) joins the group again after reflashing #postmarketOS on it. I set all these up to make sure #TouchpadEmulator autostart works with screen rotation on all of them. I released a new version with minor changes to get this working and updated my Alpine merge request.
