Haha, neither am I tbh.
I’ve made a few #TootTips posts on points where I think that there’s a literal reading, a secondary contrary reading, and then a third reading which brings the reader back to the same opinion as the literal reading, but feeling much smugger about how they got there.

Remember! If you see someone bringing some Twitter behaviour over here, the best way to deal with it is to start a new thread where you can moan about it and everyone else can join in with their example of such behaviour.

Addressing the guilty party about their behaviour directly is much more stressful and may cause unnecessary arguments.

Remember! There’s no advertising on the #fediverse, so you’re the customer not the product.

But admins have bills to pay, so if they ask for some funding for the service they provide, be generous!

If they post regularly about their art works or other services they offer, buy stuff!

If they post affiliate links to Amazon etc, maybe use them?

If other users post about their products or services, buying from them keeps them coming back and helping to pay the bills!

If you get annoyed by affinity groups moaning on and on and cluttering up your timeline, you can set up filters to block words that they often use.

That way you can keep your bubble here nice and calm and free of conflict!

Remember there's no #algorithm here, so your posts will disappear off the #timeline very quickly.

If you want lots of people to see your content, you're going to need to post *a lot*, encourage your followers to boost everything ruthlessly, and post lots of controversial opinions to trigger an avalanche of replies.

Don't edit a toot that has a #poll in it, as all the poll values will get reset to zero.

This will be especially disappointing when over 17000 people have voted in it already...

In the web app typing ':' followed by a couple of letters brings up a pop-up that allows you select emojis by name and picture.

Each instance admin can add their own emojis so there are some very unexpected ones out there, so go exploring! :toot:
