@amelliug #Typst me semble effectivement une bonne alternative à #LaTeX. Mais, par contre, ce que trouve être un avantage non négligeable ce serait, pour moi, le support natif du #svg. Ainsi je pourrais réutiliser les molécules créés par moi sous #Molketch ou sous #Ketcher par mes étudiants. Cela m'éviterait de devoir toujours convertir ces molécules ou équations sous #chemfig et #tikz ou alors exporter mes svg en #pdf ou #eps.

In meiner LinAlg-VL habe ich diese Abbildung, die Orientierung mithilfe von Determinanten erklärt. Dann gibt es ein Todo: Überarbeiten, sodass #TikZ die lineare Transformation wirklich anwendet und das transformierte F berechnet. Cooles Gadget, oder?
Heute schaue ich in den Quellcode und das ist schon implementiert !?
Wer war das? git blame!

@frischefarbe zeigt im nächsten Mini-Vortrag eine andere Spielerei. Ihr findet sie unter https://hobby.boxesandglue.dev/ und macht Werbung für #Metapost, was tatsächlich an vielen Stellen etwas mehr Aufmerksamkeit verdient hätte.
Im #TeXConTeXt Umfeld wird es deutlich mehr genutzt, aber bei #TeXLaTeX haben gerade #TikZ & Co mehr Nutzung.

Das ist ein sehr guter Tipp. Wir empfehlen unseren Studierenden, dass man den #Programmablaufplan auch prima in #TikZ direkt in #TeXLaTeX erstellen, siehe das Beispiel unter:

Auch da wird ein KI-Chatbot vielleicht nützlicher sein, diesen Quelltext zu erzeugen statt den PAP direkt zu erzeugen.

This modernized version of James Ferguson's (1710–1776) ‘Astronomical Rotula for showing the motions of the planets, places of the sun and moon, &c.’, drawn with #TikZ by @david_alberto is, quite simply, a typographical *masterpiece*. I like to think of myself as an accomplished user of TikZ, but I have never used it for anything as ambitious or as successful as this.
It mimics the style — and incorporates scanned decorative components — of the original, while being usable today.
Even if you are not interested in astronomy or its history, you should still go admire the intricate detail.

I have polished and released the source code for a TikZ reference card I created some years ago. (Images attached.)
The card was intended to be information-dense, fitting as much as possible on two sides of paper. It was only meant to be a reminder of syntax, not an explanation of meaning.
The PDF is A4+color but the source can be compiled for letter paper and/or greyscale (see the README).
The suite of macros used for the ‘grid’ layout could be used for other purposes. If there are expressions of interest, and if I have time, I might create a package based on these macros.

At the risk of stretching the definition of the #Mathober day 1 prompt ‘Link’, I offer an image based on a geometrical mosaic of intertwining loops from the Hall of the Two Sisters in the #Alhambra, redrawn to be mathematically precise.
(I drew the image as a PDF using #TikZ code that re-used loops of the same shape by applying appropriate translations and rotations.)

Here I tend to read a lot of negative comments about #LLMs, but does anyone share my experience? I use them as an aid to mostly write #rstats and #LaTeX #tikz code faster or recently to clean up a very messy #emacs configuration file. They may hallucinate and I always need to double check the output, but I find #LLMs extremely useful. The ecological footprint is a discussion for another day.

Neue Woche, neuer Kursabschnitt.
Eigentlich hatte ich ja vor, diese Woche an meiner Projektarbeit zu werkeln.
Weil der Antrag aber noch im Genehmigungsprozess hängt, darf ich nicht anfangen.
Stattdessen … sollen wir uns jetzt selbst beschäftigen. Weil nichts anderes sinnvoll ist, da ja die meisten derzeit Projektarbeit schreiben dürfen.
Ich hab mir mal wieder #LaTeX angeschaut. Ich habe den Anspruch, dass die Dokumentation auch etwas hermacht.
Das bedeutet, dass meine #UML-Diagramme wie Aktivitätsdiagramm oder Sequenzdiagramm mit #TikZ bzw. #PGF erzeugt werden.
Die geleisteten Zeiten werde ich mit https://timecop.app/en/ erfassen und als #CSV exportieren.
Ich bin so froh, mir Bücher zu LaTeX angeschafft zu haben!
Morgen dann vor allem mal Prüfungsinhalte wiederholen. Ist genug aufgelaufen in den letzten Monaten! -

Aujourd’hui, je vous propose un petit bout de code #LaTeX en utilisant #TikZ, qui permet de créer des pseudo #rapporteurs avec des graduations tous les 10°, mais sans les valeurs numériques.
Ce type de rapporteur peut être intéressant pour des exercices de #géométrie en classe de #6e ou #5e. -

I am glad to announce that the pip package #mkdocs-tex2svg , that renders #maths #variations #tables directly inside mkdocs #markdown files, with the #tikz-tab syntax, natively compatible with both (mkdocs) dark and light modes (as other #LaTeX snippets as well) is now compatible with the new #Archlinux #texlive packages ( #texlive-meta )

@sethaxen Depends a bit. Do you want to draw them or generate from data?#pgfplots is simplying that a lot and one can define custom styles to not require yourself to copy paste a lot of code. That's also the case when using #TikZ directly. #TeXLaTeX Depending on the structure there might be packages to support you. https://ctan.org/topic/pgf-tikz

1/5 #pgfplots is #LaTeX #viz package built upon #TikZ to produce beautiful and
consistent plots. pgfplots splits the "data visualization" and "data processing"
steps (as opposed to what you typically do with #matplotlib), so that I can
focus on tweaking the graphics independenty of how I generated the data. This is
also a great to nicely integrate plots with #beamer. With pgfplots, I can easily
version-control my plots with #git and I ensure I will always be able to the
relevant data.
