  1. The Works

Released February 28, 1984 .. they quasi "come-back" album. After the experimental, dance-heavy Hot Space (1982), the album marked a return to their classic hard rock sound with 1980s synthesizers and electronics. The name originated from a comment by Roger Taylor at the start of the sessions: "Let's give 'them'em the works!" #queen #theworks #80srock #rock #rockmusic #music #musicsky #musiciansky #freddiemercury #brianmay #rogertaylor #johndeacon

  4. "Radio Ga Ga" is a 1984 song by the British #rock band Queen, written by their drummer #RogerTaylor. It was released as a single with "#IGoCrazy" by #BrianMay as the B-side. It was included as the opening track on the album #TheWorks and is also featured on the band's compilation albums #GreatestHitsII and #ClassicQueen. The song, which makes a nostalgic defence of the #radio format, was a worldwide success for the band, reaching number one in 19 countries.

  6. 24 #QueenAreTheChampions day 6️⃣

Back from being sick and "I am in the stadium", methaporically speaking.

I called day 6 "I am in the stadium" because the bonus album "On Fire" is really a great live stadium album, and the next album on the agenda is very much stadium rock.

Now @buffyleigh made the observation that they have some few industrial songs in their catalogue. I never realized this, but it's very true.

One song which is almost industrial-pop is the opener of their grand 1984 album. I love the video, where our champions drive/fly through Fritz Lang's Metropolis.

  7. #IsThisTheWorldWeCreated by #Queen was released 41(!) years ago, on the same album as #HammerToFall, #RadioGaga and many others. #TheWorks was really great and that performance here 40 years ago, still stunning.

  8. It's always good to know that in addition to foreign twats like Trump, we have our own home-grown ones. The doors of my local #FatFace and #TheWorks are wide open, despite it being 3°C outside. Apparently it's company policy. Why can't the government legislate against this stupid practice?

  9. Let's start with listening to "Strange Frontier" again, an album by #RogerTayler, mostly recorded around when #Queen did #TheWorks, also in Munich. it shows, but wow, I think Rogers voice is mind-blowing good…
