  4. The Works

Released February 28, 1984 .. they quasi "come-back" album. After the experimental, dance-heavy Hot Space (1982), the album marked a return to their classic hard rock sound with 1980s synthesizers and electronics. The name originated from a comment by Roger Taylor at the start of the sessions: "Let's give 'them'em the works!" #queen #theworks #80srock #rock #rockmusic #music #musicsky #musiciansky #freddiemercury #brianmay #rogertaylor #johndeacon

  7. Queen
"A nice little medley for you":
    Bohemian Rhapsody
    Killer Queen
    March of the Black Queen
    Bohemian Rhapsody

Exactly fifty years and two days ago
(A Night at the Odeon, 1975-12-24).

In those days Freddie Mercury still announced the name of the song.

At any time an invitation you can't decline
    ...
    To avoid complications,
She never kept the same address.
    In conversations,
She spoke just like a baroness.

    And Nobody Played Synthesizers!

  8. 1986 Interview With John Deacon

    https://youtu.be/F9p81exqOEE

I love this interview with John Deacon, bass player with Queen. He comes across as a very ordinary and likeable person.

Interesting to hear his recollection of Under Pressure, that it was David Bowie pushing them to do it better.

How long can you stand the heat?
Out of the doorway the bullets rip
To the sound of the beat”

  18. In hindsight, I cannot look at #JohnDeacon at that concert and think he's enjoying it a lot but 100% looks like someone who knows it's the last time ever he'll pick up the bass for let's say, Under Pressure from #Queen. Gosh, he is so good, and underrated.
