My father taught me about the contributions of #Theia, the planetoid, which collided with #Earth.
The formation of the moon, which helped ocean tides and life form.
The larger than normal magnetic core, which protects Earth from #Sun.
Somewhere out there, there are the #asteroid fragments of the planetoid Theia, which never coalesced onto Earth nor the #Moon.
The coalesced pieces on Earth are believed to be reason for Large Low-Velocity Provinces or LLVPs.

By examining isotopes of iron, chromium, zirconium and molybdenum, the team modelled hundreds of possible scenarios for the early #Earth and #Theia, testing which combinations could produce the isotope signatures seen today. Comparing these patterns, researchers concluded that Theia most likely originated in the inner Solar System, even closer to the Sun than the early Earth.

Kurz nach der Entstehung der Erde erhielt sie einen mächtigen Schlag, als ein Objekt von der Größe des Mars in sie einschlug.Der ungebetene Gast, bekannt als Theia, wurde zerstört, und seine Teile sowie Teile der Erde wurden im Weltraum verstreut. Das Ergebnis war die Entstehung des Mondes.
