11 (& 12): At the core of TGT is the idea that everything is connected through the Thread, and thus one action will result in a sequence of events that (to humans) are seemingly unrelated. For example, if you kill someone, a tree might die and then someone will fall ill, and then the whole village will fall ill, and then someone will be born in another town 500 years after. This is as much as I can say for now in regard to antagonists. 🤔

10: Missed a day!
Kailani would call Elpis a dumbass. In reality, he thinks very highly of Elpis, to the point where it sometimes stalls his own growth because he compares his worth and skills to Elpis'.
-
9: Elpis trusts his cousin Kailani the most. They grew up together and consider each other brothers.
(I don't have many spoons to go into detail today, so I might come back to this later to expand on it.)

8: (cont)
The sweet scent of moonflowers sparks a feeling of nostalgia and makes his chest flutter uncontrollably. But a wall of fog stands between him and a memory now long gone. It draws him closer to the flowers, but at the same time it scares hi, for he may not find the memory he so yearns for.

8: The sound of the breeze through leaves reminds Elpis of his time back in his home village of Cuey — of the warm breeze sweeping through the rice paddies and through the hay fields where they, as children, played.

"Elpis heard Rytar’s Marks calling out to him. It was a melody so unique -- one only for him to hear."
-
7: When he's stressed, Elpis likes to sit out alone in nature and think. As opposed to Rytar, who likes to go out to the training grounds and clean off entire portions of it overnight (of opias = they're kind of like demons, for the sake of TL;DR). For Rytar, it's almost an addiction. Elpis is more gentle and prefers a calmer approach.
-
6: Elpis' most prized possession is a wooden carving of a wolf given to him by a very special person. It hangs from his side at all times. 🐺

5: My TGT designs are all very fantastical and based on shape language as Taíno only really wore clothing ceremonially & my culture's typical clothing is "poverty fashion," which would have made little contextual sense. Regardless, his loose top & pants are faintly inspired by the shape & purpose of jíbaro clothing. His shoulder piece is meant to resemble a mao & the long piece of fabric dropping from his waist is meant to resemble a nagua.
-
4: Elpis (pfp) has a very sweet and gentle voice. He's soft-spoken and unlikely to argue with people. He's more likely to pose a question to make you see his point, rather than raise his tone to be assertive. Unless he's nervous, he lets himself laugh as loud as he needs to.

3: Hm, how to not spoil this... I won't give names, but:
-becoming unimportant, forgotten
-death (in a way, losing control, but not exactly) -
2: This specific story started because I was learning more about my heritage and history, and I was very angry because of the impacts of centuries of colonialism. It has affected my entire life even when I can't live back home today. I also love writing gay romance — it's my thing. I suppose a lot of my inspiration comes from letting myself feel things and trying to cope with that, and from my interests in history and how we transform.

1: I'm a visual storyteller (aka illustrator). I'm currently working on my webcomic "The Golden Thread," which absolutely needs to be released in 2023 or I will only eat vegetables until I work on it. It is a gay romance story in the midst of colonialism, and it's rooted on a Taíno legend.
Makoto Shinkai and Ghibli films have been huge inspirations in my process.

Okay I have 4 WIPs but right now I'm only focusing on two of them. But, to be Responsible™️ and motivate myself, I will make this about my webcomic. Let me catch up with everyone else so far. Mute the second tag if you don't care for this.
